february market wrap.

welcome to 2021.

What a flying start we've had to 2021! A far cry from the traditionally soft launch we generally see across property in the new year as workers trickle back into the office throughout January, there has been enormous activity from day one.

Beyond the 5 day blip we experienced in early February, which saw construction activity pretty much drop off the chart, we've seen a marked increase in market confidence across sectors and, thankfully, this seems to have continued post-lockdown.

Hiring confidence has skyrocketed since December and, gradually, candidates are reentering the market too although readiness varies across role-type and seniority. The residential market, in particular, has seen a lot of activity as record sales figures in the land and new home space increase demand for resources across acquisitions and development, project management, civil engineering, sales and marketing, and business support.

We've had a cracker of a start to the year at scouted too, with placements made with developers, commercial real estate agencies, property finance businesses, builders, and more - the succesful candidates include four Development Managers, a Marketing Manager, Industrial/Commercial Sales & Leasing Consultants, New Homes Sales Consultants, and a Hydraulic Engineer.

In other exciting news, we have a home again! scouted have officially set up shop at 80 Market Street, South Melbourne, so if you're in the area, pop in and say hi.
